    Telehealth

Do you need support, but can’t make it to an in-person appointment? Are you a busy stay-at-home or working parent, and don’t have the time to drive across town for an appointment? Do you live in a more rural area, or maybe you prefer to just do things Virtually?

    Individual Therapy

Are you having a difficult time handling the struggles in your life? Could you use an expert opinion on what you’re going through, or a non-judgmental ear just to listen? Do you think you could benefit the most from individualized attention? Are you hesitant to talk to others about your problems?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then individual therapy could be the solution you’ve been seeking. Individual therapy differs from Group or Alternative therapy methods in the way that you are the sole focus of a single therapist who helps you develop and achieve your goals for therapy.

    Anxiety Treatment

Is anxiety taking over your life? Does it feel like you can’t control it no matter how hard you try? Have you already tried therapy but found it ineffective? If this sounds like you, I’m confident I can help. My practice offers the most effective forms of treatment, to get the relief from anxiety that you deserve. When it comes to treating anxiety disorders, research shows that therapy is usually the most effective option. That’s because anxiety therapy – as opposed to anxiety medication – treats more than just symptoms to the problem.

    Covid- 19 Stress

The stressors of having a pandemic hit during our lifetime cannot be underestimated.  It can feel overwhelming to manage feelings of safety in everyday life.  Fear and Anxiety about protecting oneself and family can feel like an uphill battle.  There is uncertainty about new variants, masking, vaccine protocols, social distancing, financial safety, new work routines and school safety.  Feelings of burnout are not uncommon given the decision fatigue that often accompanies living through a pandemic.  Additionally, there’s the impact of worrying about family members and possibly even the loss of a loved one.  Some individuals feel a greater sense of worry due to health concerns, e.g. immunodeficiency. Yes, COVID-19 has had a profound impact on every aspect of our lives.

According the American Psychological Association’s (APA) 2021 survey, psychologist reported the greatest increases in treating anxiety disorders (84%, up from 74%, depressive disorders (72%, up from 60%, and trauma-and stress-related disorders (62%, up from 50%).

    Parenting Stress

“If only my child had come with an instruction manual!” That’s a thought that most parents have had at some point in their lives.

Nothing really prepares you to become a parent. Some of us were lucky enough to have parents that set a good example. But others grew up in homes where the dynamic between child and parent was anything but functional or consistently loving.

    Counseling for New Mothers

For new moms, it can be upsetting and frightening to have feelings about motherhood that don’t seem “right.” For some women, a morning run, a healthy diet and receiving help and support from family and friends are sufficient enough to get through the initial adjustment period. For others, talking to a therapist who specializes in dealing with new motherhood issues can be comforting, relieving and enlightening. Therapists who have extensive education and training in post-partum disorders understand that hormone changes, personal and family history, and social support are all vital factors in understanding and alleviating postpartum symptoms.

    Women's Issues

Have you lost much of the joy you once felt? Are you struggling in an abusive or toxic relationship? Do you have years of living with low self-worth resulting in a less-than-desirable life? Throughout the ages, women have been called “the fairer sex.” And yet, were you to ask women about their life experiences, many would admit their life events haven’t always seemed so fair. Women may experience certain environmental, psychological, and biological challenges related to gender that have a significant impact on their mental health and well-being. If not addressed properly, these challenges can turn into burdens that often lead to anxiety, depression, and a lost sense of self.
